Funding Alert: PacifiCan Business Acceleration Pilot (BizAP) for British-Columbia

PacifiCan Business Acceleration Pilot (BizAP) is a new pilot initiative that invests in organizations capable of helping other high-growth-potential businesses achieve their scale-up ambitions.

 

PacifiCan Business Acceleration Pilot (BizAP) is a new pilot initiative that invests in organizations capable of helping other high-growth-potential businesses achieve their scale-up ambitions.

This program will take application until Thursday, December 14th, 2023.

Funding Amount

  • Up to $5 million
  • PacifiCan contribution must be matched (i.e., totals no more than 50% of project expenses). Total combined government funding (stacking) will be capped at 65% of total project costs.

Funding Type

  • Not-for-profit organizations: Grant/non-repayable contribution.
  • For-profit organizations: Interest-free loan/repayable contribution (normally repaid at 0% interest over 5 years in monthly installments beginning one year after the project end date).

Program Objectives

BizAP will make targeted investments in organizations whose proposals demonstrate their ability to help high-growth-potential businesses overcome their scale-up challenges.

Eligible Applicants

Not-for-profit and for-profit organizations that support businesses in pursuit of scale-up ambitions, including but not limited to:

  • business accelerators
  • angel networks
  • indigenous organizations (not-for-profits and businesses)
  • industry associations
  • municipalities and all other municipal-type organizations
  • groups or consortia of eligible recipients
  • post-secondary educational institutions
  • social enterprises
  • groups or consortia of eligible recipients

Eligible Activities

Activities that support critical scale-up needs, such as:

  • capital attraction
  • peer and expert mentoring and networking
  • market assessment and development

Project Timeline

Projects may commence after funding approval is received (expected in May 2024) and must be completed by March 2027.
